Society of Fetal Medicine aims to organize outreach programs in the peripheral areas to educate and engage health professionals in the field of Fetal Medicine and the various aspects of care it encompasses. When designing an outreach program, it is important to tailor the program to the needs and requirements of the targeted geographical area.

Objectives
  • Educate healthcare professionals about the latest advancements and technologies in fetal medicine.

  • Provide a platform for discussions and knowledge-sharing on prenatal diagnosis and treatment options.

Guidelines
  • The permission to conduct the outreach program in the deserving areas should be acquired from the central office of the society at least three months prior to the date of the program.

  • The timing and the curriculum of the program should be based as per the local needs.

  • The program should involve local fetal medicine, Radiologist and obstetrics faculties of that area who are Sfm members in the conduct of the program. In exceptional cases local institutional faculty who are not SFM members may be invited with central office permission.

  • The program initiative should also include encouraging the local health professionals to become members of the society of fetal medicine.

  • Funding for outreach programs should be handled at the local level from Diagnostic, Pharmaceutical and Genetics companies as trade partners. Central office help can be taken for this.
